Seeking new posts:
Mobile Community Center Activities Coordinator
The Wellness Coalition supports Block Island Community in its efforts to develop a facility that can house a wider range of community activities than we have at present. The Mobile Community Center (MCC) is the name for a flexible way of working in the different locations we now have, so that Health, Fitness and Cultural activities can be grant-aided to offer Wellness Coalition Events alongside their own programs.
The Mobile Community Center Coordinator will assist the Wellness Grants Supervisor in creating and coordinating MCC events for afterschool, weekends and school vacations. The post is flexible, averaging 5 hours weekly $18 p.h.
Media Communications Developer
The BI Wellness Coalition promotes events and activities to further its mission for Block Island Community for both its winter residents and for those working and visiting in the summer season. We need someone with a strong interest in public relations and established technical skills to enable the communications that advertise these events in traditional local outlets and in a variety of social media. Blog posts, website maintenance, newsletter, increasing FB and Instagram presence as well as local print sources.
This is a new post, envisaged as 5 hours per week primarily in winter and spring $15 p.h. It could suit an intern, but interest is welcomed from anyone who can set-up systems that develop Wellness communication and promotion processes.
Recreation Facility Facilitator
The BI Wellness Coalition is hiring someone with great networking, organization and communication skills to facilitate conversation between local leaders, interested professionals and community at large members to accomplish steps towards building a multi-generational recreation center. A deep understanding of the Island culture and the recreational needs of community members is required. This position is estimated at 5 hours per week and is primarily in the winter and spring seasons. $22 per hour.
For each post, please apply to Jill Seppa (give your contact details, phone and email) for further information and to express interest.
